Information You Choose to Provide
Search Terms
When you type a name, place, or record detail into a search box supplied by a third-party provider, that query is sent to the provider that operates the tool. Coal County Inmate Population does not keep its own local log of those search terms.
Messages
If you email or otherwise send a contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to read it, respond, and handle related site administration. It is not shared outside the organization unless a legal requirement makes disclosure necessary.
Information Collected During Visits
Like most websites, the site and its service providers may receive basic technical details when pages load.
- Your IP address.
- The browser type and version used for the visit.
- Device category and operating system.
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them.
- The referring website, when one is available.
- Date and time stamps connected to the visit.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may help measure site use, remember technical settings, and support advertising or analytics. You can block or delete cookies through your browser, but some features or partner tools may behave differently when cookies are disabled.
How the Information Is Used
- To keep pages available, usable, and reasonably fast.
- To send search requests to the correct third-party provider.
- To understand which Coal County jail, court, and custody pages visitors use most.
- To spot broken links, errors, abuse, or other technical problems.
- To support advertising that may be based on general visitor interests.
Outside Websites and Tools
The site links to sheriff, jail, court, ODOC, VINELink, BOP, ICE, and other government or third-party resources. Once you click away from Coal County Inmate Population, the privacy policy and data practices of the destination site control.
Advertising partners may also use their own systems to measure activity across websites or personalize ads. That tracking is handled on their platforms, not inside an official Coal County record system.

- Search partners that process submitted lookup queries.
- Analytics providers that measure site traffic and performance.

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect information handled by the site. No internet-connected service can be made completely secure, so this notice does not promise that data is immune from every unauthorized access, outage, or misuse.

The site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor submitted information, contact the site so the request can be reviewed and the data removed where appropriate.
